Davao de Oro robbery-murder suspect arrested

Mayor Levi Ebdao announced the arrest of one suspect involved in the robbery-homicide at Mabuhay LCL in Compostela, Davao de Oro where a security guard, James Crusio, was fatally shot.

The arrest followed a swift hot pursuit operation led by Compostela Chief of Police PLtCol Jesser Vagilidad IV. Investigators utilized CCTV footage from the municipality, private establishments, and other areas to track the suspect, who initially used a motorcycle before transferring to another vehicle to escape.

Mayor Ebdao praised the police for their immediate response. “We won’t rest until all those involved are brought to justice,” he said, adding that efforts to apprehend other suspects remain ongoing.

The arrested individual is also reportedly linked to a string of robberies in Cotabato and Bayugan in recent months. Authorities revealed that the suspect had previously posted bail and had legal representation.

Police patrols have been intensified throughout Compostela, but Mayor Ebdao reminded residents to stay vigilant, as law enforcement cannot cover all areas at all times.

The mayor also thanked Congresswoman Maricar Zamora and ABC President Raul Mabanglo for their financial assistance, which has aided the investigation. The victim’s family has been personally updated to ensure justice and transparency.
