Authorities arrested a top drug suspect and seized P400,000 worth of suspected shabu in a buy-bust operation conducted in Barangay Buhangin, Davao City on Friday night.
The suspect, identified only as “Brent,” 38, single, and unemployed, was arrested around 7:46 p.m. on April 25 at San Gabriel Street, San Antonio, Barangay Buhangin. Brent is listed as the city’s Top 4 high-value individual (HVI) for illegal drugs.
The operation was conducted by detectives from the Ma-a Police Station in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Regional Special Enforcement Team.
Recovered from the suspect were five sachets containing a white crystalline substance believed to be shabu. One sachet, valued at P40,000, was obtained during the buy-bust, while four others worth P360,000 were seized during the arrest. Authorities also confiscated P15,000 in marked money and a black wallet.
All items were marked and inventoried on-site in the presence of the suspect and required witnesses, as mandated by law.
The case will be pursued under Sections 5 and 11 of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
