Tinio hopes ICI will proceed with probe despite Rep. Pulong’s non-cooperation

Alliance of Concerned Teachers (ACT) Rep. Antonio Tinio emphasized that Rep. Paolo Duterte appears to be giving more and more excuses after skipping the hearing of the Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI).

This comes after Duterte’s Facebook post yesterday, where he claimed he did not back out and simply did not want to participate in what he described as a show.

“Hindi ako umatras. Umayaw ako sa palabas. Magkaiba ’yun,” he said.

In an interview with Brigada NewsFM Manila, Tinio said Duterte has been making numerous excuses.

He added that the easiest way for Duterte to prove his claims of being open to investigation is to appear before the probe.

Tinio also noted that they have submitted studies to the ICI covering no fewer than 80 contracts linked to questionable projects.

Because of this, they hope the ICI will continue to deepen its investigation into the flood control projects in Davao’s first district despite Duterte’s refusal to cooperate.
