Police are investigating the brutal killing of a teenage boy whose body was discovered inside the Public Cemetery in Barangay Sainz, Mati City, Davao Oriental.
The victim was identified as Jessie Olea, also known as “Dodong,” a resident of Purok Dumping, Barangay Matiao. Initial police reports said his hands and feet were tied using a tie box, and his head was wrapped in cellophane.
According to the Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO), Olea had a deep wound on his neck, believed to be the cause of death. Authorities are still determining when and where the killing took place.
The victim’s family is calling for justice, while investigators continue to pursue possible leads. Police are also looking into social media posts suggesting the teenager’s alleged involvement in a theft incident last year, to determine if it is connected to the murder.
As of press time, investigators have not identified any suspects. The Mati City Police Station has assured the public that all angles are being explored to bring the perpetrators to justice.
