Sta. Ana Substation commander relieved following disappearance of MBCA Amejara

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) continues its search and rescue operations for the missing passengers of MBCA Amejara.

On January 19, the boat carrying several individuals was reported missing in the Davao Gulf.

Philippine Coast Guard District Southeastern Mindanao (CGDSEM) Deputy Commander Macy Gabion confirmed that the commander of the Coast Guard Sta. Ana Substation, along with seven personnel, has been relieved from their posts.

According to Gabion, they will be temporarily assigned to the CGDSEM headquarters while the investigation into the incident is ongoing.

Meanwhile, the Naval Forces Eastern Mindanao have further intensified their response to the situation.

Surface and air assets have already been deployed to help locate M/Bca Amejara.

In closing, the Navy assured the public and the families of those on board that they are doing everything possible to find the missing individuals.
