Six fishermen missing off Manay, Davao Oriental coast

Six fishermen who set out to sea aboard a motorized boat have been reported missing off the coast here, authorities said.

The Coast Guard District Southeastern Mindanao said the fishermen were on board MBCA LEIZL when they left Manay, Davao Oriental on Feb. 20, 2026. As of Feb. 23, they had not returned.

Authorities identified the missing fishermen as Ignacio Manuel, 52; Cristobal Manuel, 27; Jose Sarajena, 70; Darwin Mag-aso, 43; Alejandro Dormal Jr., 48; and Jacinto Pacyao, 56.

The Coast Guard said the group departed for a fishing trip but failed to return to shore on schedule.

A call has been made to fishermen and residents to immediately report any information that could help locate the missing boat and its crew. Authorities also asked the public to report any possible sightings at sea.
