Various activities and mobilizations have been lined up across the country to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the EDSA People Power Revolution.
In a Facebook post by the group Bagong Alyansang Makabayan (BAYAN), it was announced that the commemoration will begin with a forum on February 23 at 1:00 p.m. at the CRC Hall, Bishop’s Residence in Baguio City.
This will be followed by protest actions on February 25, to be held from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Freedom Park in Davao City, People’s Park in Baguio City, and Angeles City.
Simultaneous march protests will also take place in Kalibo, Aklan, Roxas City, and Tacloban City.
Holy Masses and novena prayers will likewise be conducted in Roxas City, Bacolod City, and Iloilo City.
Meanwhile, an anti-corruption assembly is scheduled in Vigan City on February 27 at 9:00 a.m.
These activities are part of a broader call to end what organizers describe as a rotten system in the country, including corruption.
Various groups such as Akbayan Youth, Kaya Natin!, and Bagong Alyansang Makabayan, along with several prominent personalities and institutions, continue to urge the public to participate and join the struggle for genuine freedom and democracy in the country.
