Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Secretary Jay Ruiz vehemently denied the issue that he owns the company which months ago has secured more than P200 million deals with the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO).
In an interview, Ruiz said that the story which appeared on an online website was malicious and fake news.
Prior to this a story came out online that the multi-million peso deal with PCSO allegedly made Ruiz like a lotto winner hitting a jackpot.
Ruiz said he was not the owner of Digital8 Incorporated but he just hired as an authorized representative in the joint venture with IBC-13.
He also questioned the people who run the website for not getting his side before running the story.
The secretary also revealed the issue affected his family especially his mother who had a heart condition.
After the issue broke out Ruiz said he was forced to provide security for his family.
Ruiz believes that the issue is a demolition job against him especially that he just asked all presidential appointees under PCO to submit courtesy resignations.
He is also set to divest his interest in his other businesses which might have a possible conflict of interest with his new job.
