Quezon City Second District Representative Ralph Tulfo has issued a public apology after his car was caught illegally passing the EDSA Busway on January 23.
In a statement, Rep. Tulfo apologized for his actions and made sure the same mistake will not happen again.
The lawmaker also clarified he did not try to escape nor drop names of people in government to get rid of the issue.
Tulfo said.
Rep. Tulfo admitted his mistake and paid the corresponding penalties but he did not mention the reason why his black SUV passed by the bus lane.
Prior to this, the congressman’s father Senator Raffy Tulfo said he scolded his son for the said incident.
Senator Tulfo also defended his son on the issue of being abusive in passing through the busway.
Senator Tulfo added.
The elder Tulfo said that the fact that his son did not use the protocol plate shows that he was not being abusive.
Bus lanes are for the use of LTFRB authorized buses only, on duty ambulances, firetrucks, police vehicles and other service vehicles performing duties in the EDSA Busway Project.
Other vehicles allowed are that of the President, Vice President, Senate President, Speaker of the House of Representatives and Supreme Court Chief Justice.
