Remulla shrugs off protesters’ curses in Mendiola

Department of the Interior and Local Government Secretary Jonvic Remulla said he was not affected by the curses he received from protesters during a rally in Mendiola. Remulla was monitoring police operations at the demonstration when several participants shouted insults at him.

He said facing strong reactions from protesters is part of his job and that people have the right to express themselves as long as demonstrations remain peaceful. Remulla added that he does not take the remarks personally, whether delivered in person or on social media.

According to the secretary, maintaining order is more important than responding to harsh words. He noted that his focus remains on ensuring safe and peaceful conduct during public gatherings, regardless of the criticism directed at him.
