PPA issues advisory for travelers bringing pets during Holy Week

The Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) reminded travelers that pets and plants cannot be brought freely during trips, especially with the upcoming Holy Week.

The agency released separate advisories on the matter earlier today.

For fur parents, passengers traveling with animals are required to coordinate with their local Bureau of Animal Industry – National Veterinary Quarantine Services office to secure a seven-day shipping permit.

A veterinary health certificate is also required for sea transport.

This ensures that pets can travel safely and properly on board ships and within port areas.

Meanwhile, for plants, travelers must also secure a shipping permit from their local Bureau of Plant Industry (BPI) office.

The PPA also strictly prohibits bringing illegal items such as flammable materials, deadly weapons, and liquor into ports and piers.
