The Philippine National Police (PNP) said it has considered the killing of vlogger Mima Alicia “case solved” after investigators identified six individuals allegedly involved in the crime, including the alleged mastermind and gunman.
PNP Chief Police Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. said three of the six suspects are now in police custody, while authorities continue to search for the remaining three.
According to Nartatez, investigators have established the motive behind the killing, and criminal charges have already been filed before the Caloocan City Prosecutor’s Office.
Two of the suspects, including the alleged gunman and an alleged cohort, were arrested on July 24, six days after the fatal shooting.
Another suspect, identified by investigators as the alleged middleman, voluntarily surrendered to the Mabalacat Police Station before being turned over to the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG).
Police said the alleged middleman served as the link between the gunman and other individuals involved in the operation by relaying information and sending money.
The investigation also led authorities to examine the firearm allegedly used in the killing.
According to the PNP, investigators found that the weapon has been linked to at least eight to 10 other incidents in Bulacan, Nueva Ecija, Quezon City, Caloocan and Malabon.
The incidents allegedly connected to the firearm include shooting and robbery cases.
