Dela Rosa renews Supreme Court plea to block arrest and ICC transfer

Sen. Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa has renewed his plea before the Supreme Court for a temporary restraining order (TRO) to prevent his arrest and transfer to the International Criminal Court (ICC), while his wife, Nancy Dela Rosa, has appealed to his former allies for help.

In his latest court filing, Dela Rosa urged the Supreme Court to reconsider its May 20, 2026, decision denying his request for interim protection against possible arrest and transfer to the ICC.

He is also asking the court to block the implementation of the ₱50-million bounty announced on Oct. 23 and prevent authorities from taking actions that could lead to his arrest or transfer to international custody.

The Supreme Court denied his initial request for a TRO or status quo ante order in a 9-5-1 vote. The court clarified that the ruling concerned interim relief and did not resolve the main issues in the case.

Dela Rosa filed a motion for reconsideration on June 1 and subsequently reiterated his request for urgent action.

Meanwhile, Nancy Dela Rosa appealed to influential figures who were previously close to her husband in a Facebook post, urging them to reconsider their treatment of the senator.

“I just pray that the powerful few, who were also his friends, would come to realize he is not their enemy nor the enemy of this state,” she wrote.

“He needs your help, not your persecution,” she added.

Her message called on her husband’s former allies to offer assistance rather than treat him as an adversary.

The Supreme Court has yet to resolve the main petition, according to the documents provided.
