Ph, US hold Bilateral Maritime Cooperative Activity in Manila Bay

The Philippines and the United States conducted a Bilateral Maritime Cooperative Activity (MCA) in Manila Bay and the waters off Mariveles, Bataan to enhance interoperability between their forces.

The activity aims to strengthen maritime security and sustain coordinated maritime response operations within the Philippine Maritime Zones.

Participating Philippine assets included the BRP Antonio Luna (FFG-15), two A-29B Super Tucano aircraft, a C-208B aircraft, a Sokol Search and Rescue aircraft, and the BRP Gabriela Silang (OPV 8301) of the Philippine Coast Guard.

Meanwhile, the U.S. deployed the USS Blue Ridge (LCC-19), the flagship of the U.S. Navy’s 7th Fleet.

In a statement, the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) said the successful conduct of the MCA reflects the continued commitment of both countries to strengthen coordination in ensuring regional maritime security, stability, and adherence to international law.

The AFP also assured that it will continue to build a strong defense posture and enhance its capability to protect the Philippines’ maritime interests.
