PCG maintains heightened Security at ports after Holiday Break

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) continues to enforce strict security measures at ports following the holiday season, amid the ongoing influx of returning travelers.

The PCG reported that it has monitored a total of 5.5 million passengers during the post-holiday travel period.

In an interview with Brigada NewsFM Manila, PCG Captain Noemie Cayabyab said that the highest volume of passengers was recorded at the ports of Batangas, Cebu, and Iloilo.

While there have been no reports of passenger congestion so far, Cayabyab noted that some sea trips were canceled due to unfavorable weather conditions. She added that the PCG has not received any reports of delayed trips from major ports.

Meanwhile, Cayabyab reiterated that the PCG continues to maintain strict monitoring and security in all ports.

She also assured the public that the Coast Guard is conducting thorough inspections of all vessels before they are allowed to sail.
