Palace questions source of SWS survey showing 54% rating for VP Duterte

Malacañang has questioned the source of a recent survey by Social Weather Stations showing Vice President Sara Duterte receiving a 54% satisfaction rating.

Palace Press Officer Claire Castro raised the issue when asked about the reported rating of the vice president. She said the Palace is looking into where the survey numbers came from.

Castro said that regardless of survey figures, the Palace maintains that the president continues to actively work while others are on vacation. She added that survey results should not mislead the public, especially if they differ from what people see and experience from government services.

According to Castro, the Palace believes leadership should be measured through concrete results and actual work rather than survey numbers alone. She emphasized that ratings do not necessarily reflect real performance on the ground.

The statement comes after reports circulated about the vice president’s satisfaction rating based on the Social Weather Stations survey. Malacañang did not provide further details on what specifically it is seeking regarding the survey’s source.

Officials stressed that the public should remain cautious about relying solely on ratings when evaluating leaders. The Palace said outcomes and service delivery should remain the main basis for assessing leadership.

The survey figures are part of regular polling conducted by Social Weather Stations. The Palace’s response highlights ongoing scrutiny of survey results and their impact on public perception of government officials.

No additional comment from the vice president’s office was included in the statement released by Malacañang.
