Death toll in MV Trisha Kerstin 3 sinking rises to 54

Authorities continue their operations to locate the remaining individuals who were aboard the sunken MV Trisha Kerstin 3.

According to the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), one male body was recovered today from the area where the incident occurred.

With this development, the total number of fatalities has risen to 54, while 293 survivors have been recorded and 25 individuals remain missing.

The agency clarified that the figures were consolidated through the joint efforts of the Philippine National Police–Scene of the Crime Operatives (PNP-SOCO), the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), the Coast Guard District Southwestern Mindanao (CGDSWM), and the affected families who are conducting daily coordination with inter-agency search and rescue authorities.

The PCG assured the public that it remains committed to continuing the search for those still missing and to providing support to families seeking accountability and justice.
