LRT-1 management cleared of liability in FPJ station incident

The Philippine National Police (PNP) sees no liability on the part of the LRT-1 management in connection with the incident involving a student who fell from FPJ Station and was subsequently hit by a vehicle.

In a press briefing, PNP spokesperson Police Brigadier General Randulf Tuaño said that the LRT would only be held accountable if there were findings of contributory negligence on its part.

At present, he said, they have not found any such negligence.

It was also clarified by Quezon City Police District director Brig. Gen. Randy Glenn Silvio that no inquest proceedings were conducted in relation to the incident.

Meanwhile, the driver of the vehicle that struck the student has been released after the victim’s father decided not to pursue a complaint against him.
