More than eight million devotees attended the 2025 Traslacion yesterday, with an estimated six million devotees at the Quiapo Church, one million in Quirino Grandstand and nearly 400,000 people in the procession.
Both the National Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (NDRRMC) and the Quiapo Church estimated that the crowd reached more than eight million in the three locations.
The procession of the image of Jesus Nazareno left Quirino Grandstand on January 9 at 4:41 am and reached Quiapo Church on January 10 at 1:26am.
It lasted 20 hours, 44 minutes and four seconds which is considered as one of the longest Traslacion in the recent years.
The Manila Police District (MPD) considered the event successful as there was no serious injuries and untoward incidents reported.
MPD Director Police Brigadier General Arnold Ibay said except for the foot injuries and hypertension experienced by some devotees no serious incidents happened in the duration of the procession.
The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) reported they treated around 900 individuals for minor injuries and those who experienced difficulty in breathing.
