A Philippine Air Force (PAF) FA-50 fighter jet experienced a minor generator-related issue while returning to the Philippines from Indonesia following its participation in Exercise Pitch Black 2026 on Aug. 9.
According to PAF Deputy Spokesperson Lt. Col. Michael Angelo Patron, the issue was detected before the aircraft landed in Indonesia.
The aircraft was immediately subjected to maintenance and inspection procedures, according to the PAF. It was later restored to an airworthiness level that allowed it to safely return to the Philippines.
No one was injured in the incident, and all crew members were reported safe.
The PAF also clarified that there was no need to ground the FA-50 involved in the incident. The aircraft remains operational and ready to be deployed for missions as needed.
The Philippine Air Force emphasized that the safety of its personnel and aircraft remains a primary priority.
