Over 50,000 people affected by shear line

The shear line has affected 55,622 people across the Philippines, primarily in Western and Central Visayas. The weather phenomenon brought heavy rains, displacing thousands and forcing many into temporary shelters.

As of the latest update, 431 families, or 1,445 individuals, are staying in 31 evacuation centers. Additionally, 26 families have sought refuge with relatives.

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) continues its efforts to provide aid to affected communities. Relief operations remain ongoing to address the immediate needs of those displaced by the shear line’s impact.
