The number of individuals who registered following the resumption of voter registration in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) for the 2026 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) has quickly risen to nearly 1,000 just one day after it reopened.
According to the Commission on Elections (Comelec), a total of 969 applicants registered on February 9, 2026.
Of this number, 494 were women while 475 were men.
Across the region, Maguindanao del Norte recorded the highest number of registrants with 349.
This was followed by the Special Geographic Area (SGA) in Cotabato with 208 registrants.
Lanao del Sur recorded 148 registrants.
Maguindanao del Sur had 134 registrants, while Tawi-Tawi recorded 76.
Meanwhile, Basilan posted the lowest number of registrants, with only 54.
Earlier, Comelec announced that the voter registration period will run from February 9 to March 31.
