DOJ maintains Atong Ang is still in the Philippines

The Department of Justice (DOJ) believes that businessman Atong Ang is still in the Philippines.

According to Justice Secretary Fredderick Vida, several countries are coordinating with the department, and all possible avenues regarding the matter are currently being reviewed.

Based on their records, Ang is still in the country and there is no departure record from the Bureau of Immigration (BI).

Despite this, the agency said it is not ruling out the possibility that the businessman may have already slipped out of the Philippines.

Vida explained that, considering the “realm of possibility,” it is indeed possible that Ang may have already left the country.

At the same time, he assured the public that the DOJ continues its efforts to track down Ang.

It can be recalled that Ang is facing cases related to the disappearance of several sabungeros (cockfighting enthusiasts).
