A woman accused of stealing from employers by posing as a housekeeper was arrested by Talomo police in Barangay 37-D, Quezon Boulevard, Davao City.
The suspect, identified as Judith Encarnado Cabajar, 45, also known as Joan Dela Cruz Catilla, is a resident of Libra Street, Bahayang Pag-asa, Molino I, Bacoor, Cavite. She was apprehended by personnel from the Talomo Police Station and the Regional Mobile Force Battalion – XI.
Her arrest was based on a warrant issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch 128 in Dasmariñas City, Cavite, for qualified theft. The court set her bail at Php 40,000.
Authorities said Cabajar used fake identities to secure employment as a housekeeper. Once she gained her employers’ trust, she would steal valuables before disappearing. Her crimes were primarily committed in the Calabarzon region, leaving multiple victims.
PMAJ Oriel stated that police are investigating whether she has additional warrants under different names. He urged the public to be cautious when hiring household workers.
Cabajar is currently detained at PS3-Talomo Police Station, awaiting transfer to Cavite for legal proceedings.
