Mother arrested for online sexual exploitation of her children in Iligan City

Authorities arrested a woman and rescued seven minors during an entrapment and rescue operation targeting online sexual exploitation of children in Iligan City on Jan. 15, 2026, police said.

The operation was carried out by the Iligan City Task Force Against Online Sexual Abuse and Exploitation of Children in Barangay Tambacan. Police identified the suspect only by the alias “Jen,” who was described as the mother of the victims.

Authorities said the suspect allegedly offered her 1-year-old child online for sexual exploitation. Seven minors aged 1 to 6 were rescued during the operation, including one child classified as at risk.

Authorities coordinated with the City Social Welfare and Development Office, the Department of Justice Office of the City Prosecutor, the Regional Inter-Agency Committee Against Trafficking in Region 10, and the Women and Children Protection Desk.

During the operation, police seized several digital devices that tested positive for child sexual abuse and exploitation materials. Authorities said the suspect is facing possible charges for violations of Republic Act 11930, Republic Act 9208 as amended, and Republic Act 7610, or the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act.

The rescued children were placed under the care of the City Social Welfare and Development Office, while the suspect was taken to Iligan City Police Station 4 for further investigation and filing of charges.

Police reiterated their commitment to intensify efforts against online sexual abuse and exploitation of children and urged the public to report suspicious activities.
