Many Filipinos believe that the government can still address the problems facing the country.
Based on OCTA Research’s Tugon ng Masa survey conducted from December 3 to 11, 2025, a majority or 55% of respondents said they trust the government’s ability to resolve national issues.
Meanwhile, 20% said they do not trust the government, while 25% were undecided.
Across the country, the Visayas recorded the highest level of trust at 68%, higher than the National Capital Region (NCR) and Balance Luzon, both at 49%.
Despite this overall trust, many respondents said they do not feel closely connected to elected officials.
Only 31% believe that officials in Congress and local government units value public opinion, while 61% said they do not.
According to OCTA, these findings highlight that sustaining public trust requires not only effective governance but also a strong and genuine response to people’s needs, as well as greater appreciation of citizens’ voices.
The survey was conducted through face-to-face interviews with 1,200 adult respondents nationwide.
