An 18-year-old woman, reported missing on June 21, 2025, was found dead and buried in a property in Barangay Pawa, Tabaco City, Albay.
Julieta Locsin, chief barangay tanod of Pawa, told Brigada News FM Legazpi that the victim’s mother filed a missing person report after her daughter failed to return home. The victim had reportedly told her family she was going to visit her boyfriend’s uncle in Barangay Pawa but never came back.
Both the victim and her 20-year-old boyfriend were residents of Barangay Sto. Cristo. Locsin said they went to the uncle’s property to search for the girl but did not find her. Hours later, Locsin received a call that the boyfriend had surrendered and confessed that the victim was buried inside the uncle’s compound.
The Tabaco City Police confirmed that the uncle, who owns the hut and the 500-square-meter lot where the victim was found, is not a person of interest.
PSSG. Elaine Adriano, spokesperson for the Tabaco City Police Station, said the location is isolated and far from nearby houses. Adriano also confirmed that the suspect was not under the influence of illegal drugs or alcohol during the crime.
Police continue their investigation to determine the motive, focusing on reports of a heated argument between the suspect and the victim before the murder. The boyfriend remains in police custody.
