Medical practitioners file complaint vs. ex-Finance secretary Recto, and PhilHealth chief

A group of medical practitioners and several PhilHealth members have filed a complaint with the Office of the Ombudsman against former Finance Secretary, now Executive Secretary Ralph Recto, and former PhilHealth president Emmanuel Ledesma Jr.

The complaint is in connection with the ₱60-billion fund transfer to the national treasury.

The complainants are urging the Ombudsman to investigate Recto and Ledesma for possible criminal offenses, including plunder, graft and technical malversation, as well as other administrative offenses.

They claimed that the transfer of funds to the National Treasury caused harm to PhilHealth beneficiaries.

According to them, the move violated the law and the funds were used for purposes other than those for which they were intended.

Earlier, the Save the Philippines Coalition had also filed a complaint against Recto and Ledesma over the same issue.
