Marcos responds to Duterte’s ‘Kill Joke’

In a recent rally in Davao del Norte, a stronghold of the Duterte family, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. condemned former President Rodrigo Duterte’s comment about killing 15 senators to make way for new candidates. The remark was made by Duterte at the PDP-Laban proclamation rally in San Juan City.

Marcos expressed disbelief at Duterte’s suggestion, emphasizing that it was troubling for anyone to see murder as a solution to problems. He remarked, “It’s strange how some people think killing is the only solution to everything.”

The President went on to suggest that Duterte’s statement reflected a lack of hope for alternative solutions. He also implied that those in opposition are afraid of the strength of the ruling coalition, given its solid lineup. Marcos stated, “If I were in the opposition and saw our coalition, I would say we are a formidable opponent.”
