Two unidentified gunmen shot a 32-year-old man five times in Sitio Calunacon, Barangay Santol in Binalbagan town, Negros Occidental, at around 9:30 pm on March 6, 2025, allegedly over an unpaid debt.
The attackers fired at the victim, identified only as “Fil,” hitting his legs, hands, and back. Responders rushed him to the hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment.
Police Major Jun Ray Batadlan, chief of the Binalbagan Municipal Police Station, said investigators believe the attack stemmed from a personal grudge.
Reports indicate that creditors had warned the victim twice about settling his dues, but he failed to pay.
Authorities are now tracking down the gunmen as the investigation continues.*
