LTO orders BOSS Ironman organizers to explain Mindanao cup accidents

The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has summoned the organizers of the BOSS Ironman Challenge Mindanao Cup 2026 following reports of multiple accidents and alleged traffic violations during the event.

The organizer, the BMW Owners’ Society of Safe Riders (BOSS), was ordered to explain after viral footage and social media reports showed incidents connected to the motorcycle challenge.

According to the LTO, authorities are looking into possible violations of traffic laws, including overspeeding, the use of unauthorized vehicle accessories, illegal blinkers, improper modifications, failure to stop at red lights, and disregard of lane markings.

Other accidents were also reported in several areas, including Datu Odin Sinsuat, Kapatagan, Laguindingan, Talakag, and Lantapan.

Because of the allegations, the LTO issued a show cause order directing BOSS to respond and clarify the accusations, as well as possible cases connected to the incidents.
