LTFRB prepares for the return of passengers to Metro Manila after holiday exodus

The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has been placed on full alert in preparation for the expected influx of millions of commuters returning after the holiday break.

According to LTFRB Chairperson Atty. Vigor Mendoza II, bus and transport companies have already been advised to ensure the roadworthiness of their buses and vehicles to guarantee smooth and hassle-free trips.

In a statement, Mendoza said the agency will closely monitor the compliance of these companies, as well as other transport operators.

The LTFRB will also conduct random and surprise inspections.

Mendoza stressed that their focus is not only on the roadworthiness of public utility vehicles, but also on the readiness and condition of drivers.

The agency is hopeful that no further accidents will be recorded during the return of passengers from the provinces.

It was noted that at least two road crash incidents were recorded during the holiday exodus.
