The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) has placed Mayon Volcano under close monitoring following increased volcanic activity.
This comes after the volcano was raised to Alert Level 2 due to a rise in rockfall events.
In an advisory, CAAP announced the extension of Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) B6570/25 for aircraft flying near Mayon Volcano.
The restriction took effect at 8:55 a.m. and will remain in force until 8:55 a.m. on Saturday.
Flights near Mayon Volcano have been prohibited since December last year due to its ongoing activity.
Meanwhile, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) continues to remind the public to remain alert, citing the increasing possibility of a volcanic eruption.
