Lachica questions Madriaga credibility over conflicting statements

Former VPSPG commander Col. Raymund Dante Lachica questioned the credibility of Ramil Madriaga, citing what he described as conflicting versions of statements presented before the House Committee on Justice.

Lachica said details provided by Madriaga differed across his affidavit, supplemental affidavit, and most recent testimony. According to him, inconsistencies were evident in the timeline of events, the individuals allegedly involved, and the handling of funds.

“This is no longer a simple allegation. The contradictions are clear,” Lachica said.

He stressed that repeated claims do not automatically establish truth, emphasizing that allegations must be supported by evidence, documents, and proper verification.

Lachica also asserted that his own affidavit was based on official records and certifications, which he said contradict some of the allegations raised.

He confirmed that he has filed a cyberlibel complaint related to what he described as the spread of unverified information.

According to Lachica, credibility is determined by evidence and consistency rather than repetition of claims. He emphasized that the truth remains constant and does not require revision, while false claims often change over time.

The statements were made in connection with ongoing proceedings before the House Committee on Justice, where testimonies and documents continue to be examined.
