Kid Rock says he’d drop Donald Trump support over this surprising issue—Find out what it is

Kid Rock, a long-time supporter of Donald Trump, recently revealed that his loyalty has a limit. In an interview on Real Time with Bill Maher, the musician said he would reconsider his support for Trump if the former president pursued a third term.

During the interview, Maher asked Kid Rock about Trump’s comments on a possible third term. The rockstar initially brushed off Trump’s statement as a joke but then admitted he would have concerns if it were serious. “Under current circumstances, if things are going the way they’ve been going along, yes. If he says, ‘I’m running for a third term,’ I’d be like, ‘Whoa, whoa, pump the brakes man. Hold on a second,’” Kid Rock explained.

Loyal Supporter with Limits

Kid Rock has been one of Trump’s most vocal celebrity supporters since his first presidential campaign in 2016. He even performed at Trump’s inauguration party, sharing the stage with Billy Ray Cyrus. Their friendship has remained strong, with Kid Rock previously stating that Trump once asked him for advice on North Korea.

However, Kid Rock made it clear that his loyalty isn’t unconditional. When Maher asked if Trump could lose his support, Kid Rock responded, “It would be very tough. It would be very, very tough. I don’t like Trump. I f–king love Trump.”

Despite his strong backing, Kid Rock emphasized that he wouldn’t support Trump if he attempted to bypass the 22nd Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, which limits presidents to two terms. Trump’s recent remarks about serving “three times or four times” have fueled speculation about his intentions.

Trump’s Third Term Speculation

Trump is currently serving his second term, although not consecutively. He hinted at challenging the 22nd Amendment by referencing Franklin D. Roosevelt’s four terms. “You know, FDR—almost 16 years—he was four terms. I don’t know, are we going to be considered three-term? Or two-term?” Trump said, according to Time.

Trump also made similar remarks after his latest inauguration, stating, “It will be the greatest honor of my life to serve, not once but twice—or three times or four times.” These statements have raised questions about his future political ambitions.

The 22nd Amendment clearly states that no one can be elected president more than twice. It also prevents anyone who served more than two years of another president’s term from being elected more than once.

A Loyal Friend with Boundaries

Kid Rock’s remarks highlight the complexity of his support for Trump. While he remains a devoted fan, his respect for the Constitution is unwavering. The musician made it clear that he wouldn’t stand by Trump if he attempted to extend his presidency beyond the legal limit.

Trump’s comments continue to spark debate among political analysts and voters alike. As speculation grows about his next move, it remains to be seen how his most loyal supporters, including Kid Rock, will respond if he decides to pursue a third term.
