Khadiyah “KD” Lewis, known for her bold personality and business prowess on Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta, has died at the age of 44. Her death was confirmed by her brother, Jamaal Lewis, in a statement to The Shade Room, where he called the loss emotionally devastating for their family.
The cause of death has not been made public. However, Lewis’ family is inviting fans to take part in honoring her life. A virtual memorial is being organized via Zoom, and a public funeral is set for June 11 at Earl M. Temple Memorial Chapel in Oklahoma City. A visitation will take place the day before, on June 10. She will be laid to rest at Trice Hill Cemetery.
Rise to Fame Through Love & Hip Hop
Born March 31, 1981, in Oklahoma City, Lewis rose to fame during Seasons 3 and 4 of VH1’s Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta as the girlfriend and business consultant of rapper Yung Joc. Initially introduced as a real estate agent, her role expanded to showcase her influence on his career and their rocky relationship, complete with memorable on-screen drama and heartfelt moments that fans continue to talk about.
Beyond television, Lewis had a thriving career as an entrepreneur. A graduate of Florida A&M University, she managed several successful businesses, including a real estate investment firm and a financial services consultancy. On her social media, she described herself as a “consultant, accountant, speaker, and boss,” and remained an advocate for Black female entrepreneurship.
Family Honors Her Legacy With Public Tribute
Though Lewis stepped away from reality TV, she stayed active online, where she often shared financial tips and motivational content. Her fans appreciated her direct style and passion for empowering women.
In a statement, her family expressed gratitude for the love and support they’ve received and encouraged donations to mental health and suicide prevention organizations in her name. While they did not link these causes to her death, the gesture reflects her long-standing support for wellness and advocacy.
She is survived by her parents, Debra Body and David Clark Lewis Jr., and her siblings Rasheedah Amira Lewis, Niama T. Hill, Jamaal David Lewis, and Ahmedu Elijah Inegbedion.
According to GLOBE Magazine, her legacy as a TV standout and a driven entrepreneur continues to inspire both fans and aspiring professionals.
