Authorities in Indonesia have begun an operation to raise and right the Virgo Transport 8, which capsized and sank in the Java Sea on Sunday.
The vessel was carrying 243 people on a 20-hour voyage from Surabaya to Banjarmasin when it capsized amid bad weather.
Authorities said six people have been confirmed dead, 108 survived, while 129 remain missing.
The salvage team plans to pull the vessel to shallower waters before turning it upright to make rescue and evacuation operations easier.
Search efforts are also continuing with eight ships and two helicopters, but strong winds, currents and high waves are hampering the operation.
Meanwhile, Navy divers have managed to approach the sunken vessel and capture footage, where they found wallets, identification cards and other items.
