The Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) announced that the scheduled hearing for former Speaker Martin Romualdez next week will no longer push through.
According to the ICI advisory, Romualdez’s camp requested the postponement of the hearing, which was originally set for October 22, 2025.
The reason cited was that he is set to undergo a medical procedure.
The commission said it will issue another advisory once a new date for the hearing is set.
Last Friday, ICI Executive Director Brian Keith Hosaka announced that another hearing involving Romualdez was supposed to take place next week.
The former House Speaker had previously appeared at the ICI office last week after being invited for closed-door hearings.
Hosaka said Romualdez did not name any individuals in relation to the alleged anomalies in flood control projects in his affidavit, but he did identify those involved in drafting the national budget.
Romualdez also denied receiving any kickbacks from the said projects.
