DSWD Ensures Welfare of Stranded Passengers at Ports

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) immediately responded to the needs of stranded passengers at ports in Albay due to Tropical Storm Ramil.

Sea travel was suspended because of the storm, leaving many passengers unable to continue their journeys.

Yesterday, the DSWD Field Office (FO) 5’s Angels in Red Vests team distributed hot meals to affected individuals.

In coordination with the provincial government of Catanduanes, the agency served food to 180 passengers at Pio Duran Port and 350 passengers at Tabaco Port.

According to the DSWD, this effort is in line with the government’s directive to deliver prompt assistance to Filipinos during calamities.
