The House of Representatives is “90 to 95 percent ready” for President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.’s fourth State of the Nation Address (SONA), according to House spokesperson Atty. Princess Abante.
In a press briefing Monday, Abante said nearly all preparations are in place, except for final weather-related contingency measures. Despite gloomy conditions earlier in the day, she confirmed that the final inter-agency coordination meeting pushed through without delay.
She clarified that discussions have not yet included worst-case scenarios, such as a storm hitting on the day of SONA or the possible postponement of the physical event.
Security protocols are expected to remain mostly unchanged from last year’s SONA. The number of guests allowed inside the plenary hall is also expected to be the same.
House Secretary General Reginald Velasco confirmed that the official guest list is now complete, and invitations have already been sent out.
To accommodate guests who cannot enter the main session hall, the House will open three designated viewing areas: Romualdez Hall, RVM Halls 7 and 8, and the De Venecia Hall.
SONA 2025 is scheduled to take place at the Batasang Pambansa Complex in Quezon City.
