Group: Filipinos — not the Palace — will decide whether the fight vs corruption is over

The Bagong Alyansang Makabayan (Bayan) believes Malacañang wants to end the anti-corruption campaign to avoid calls for President Bongbong Marcos to be held accountable for the rollout of pork barrel projects, questionable budget insertions, and alleged kickbacks.

This comes after the Palace earlier said that the “end game” of the anti-corruption campaign is near.

In a statement, Bayan insisted that only the Filipino people can decide when the issue of corruption is truly resolved.

The group maintained that the public will resist any attempt to cut short, hasten, or stop ongoing investigations, especially if meant to shield the president from accountability.

Bayan added that the real “end game” is with the president himself, as he has already been exposed—calling him the “king of corruption” and “thief executive” due to his supposed role in government corruption.
