The former queen had been battling a blood infection since October 17, and despite receiving medical treatment, her condition deteriorated.

In recent years, Sirikit had largely stayed out of the public eye due to her health.

Though often overshadowed by her husband and son, she remained deeply loved and influential. Her portraits are prominently displayed in homes, offices, and public spaces across Thailand, and her birthday, August 12, is celebrated nationwide as Mother’s Day.
