Evil spirits allegedly possessed three siblings in Negros Occidental

A mother from Barangay Binicuil, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental, reported a terrifying incident on Monday evening, January 6, claiming that evil spirits possessed her three children.

Emily, the mother, recounted the ordeal in an interview with Brigada News FM Kabankalan. She said that the incident began earlier that day when her daughter returned home from school, complaining of extreme fatigue. The girl skipped dinner and went to bed early.

At around 7:00 PM, Emily noticed her daughter suddenly crying out as if having a nightmare. When she tried to wake her, Emily claimed the girl’s voice changed, and she allegedly said the chilling words, “I will kill you all.”

Terrified, Emily sought help from barangay officials, who immediately contacted a priest. She described how her daughter’s eyes appeared fiery and how her unnatural strength made it impossible for the family to restrain her.

While dealing with her daughter, Emily heard strange noises, which she said sounded like someone jumping from a nearby tree onto their roof. However, when the family checked, they found no one.

The situation worsened when Emily instructed her 17-year-old son, who was already at home, to light something (dabok).

Allegedly, her son called his cousin to accompany him, and together they saw a shadowy figure (anino), which they reportedly chased.

While chasing the figure, Emily’s son allegedly lost consciousness. When he regained consciousness, his voice had allegedly changed, and he eerily repeated the same menacing words: “I will kill you all.”

As the older brother tried to restrain him, Emily reported that her 21-year-old son also began showing similar signs of possession.

Demonically possessed?

Emily said that her daughter had previously experienced a similar incident, which led to bullying from classmates.

Iglesia Filipina Independiente’s Father Numeriano Maquiran, one of the responding priests, assessed the situation and said that the siblings were demonically possessed. He identified a talisman, locally known as “habak,” as the likely source of the possession.

Maquiran explained that while Filipinos often wear talismans for protection against spirits, these items could also attract negative forces.

He recommended burying the talisman worn by one of the siblings and emphasized that prayer is the most effective weapon against evil forces.

Despite these efforts, two of the siblings reportedly became possessed again on Tuesday evening, January 7, at around 6:00 PM.

The family is actively seeking further intervention to safeguard their children from harm.
