A total of 88 areas across the country have been placed under a state of calamity due to the combined effects of Typhoons Luis and Maymay and the Southwest Monsoon or Habagat.
The areas include the entire provinces of Bataan, Bulacan, Pampanga, and Cavite.
Several other areas in Dagupan City, Pangasinan, Zambales, Rizal, and Batangas have also been placed under a state of calamity.
Meanwhile, around 6.6 million individuals, or nearly two million families, have been affected across 11 regions, including the National Capital Region, CALABARZON, Cordillera Administrative Region, and MIMAROPA.
Authorities have so far recorded 29 deaths, 19 injuries, and three people who remain missing.
Relief and recovery operations are ongoing in affected communities as authorities continue to assess the extent of damage caused by the weather disturbances.
