Ellen Adarna has caught the attention of netizens after flaunting what appeared to be hundreds of thousands of pesos in cash in an Instagram Reel posted Monday night, September 14.
In the video, Ellen jokingly slapped herself with four bundles of cash, which were estimated to be worth around 400-thousand pesos.
She later clarified that the money was not from a new boyfriend, but was actually the monthly financial support given by her former partner, actor John Lloyd Cruz, for their son, Elias.
Ellen also dismissed a netizen’s request for a “boyfriend reveal,” saying she has no boyfriend and jokingly turned the cash into “play time.”
Meanwhile, some netizens speculated that the post may have been a subtle jab at her estranged husband, Derek Ramsay, with whom she shares a daughter, Lili.
Back in February, Ellen publicly addressed claims that Derek was a “good provider,” saying she had to remind him about financial support for their daughter.
Ellen also revealed that Derek eventually provided a credit card with a monthly limit of 50-thousand pesos, which she said covered only 55.8 percent of their daughter’s total monthly expenses based on her own computation.
She added that she personally pays her staff, including five nannies, with two assigned to Lili, while Derek’s contribution was limited to the salary of one nanny.
Ellen further maintained that she provided her own home and urged people not to rewrite what she described as the reality of their financial arrangements.
