Duterte faces critics in the House’ probe today

Former President Rodrigo Duterte and the congressmen investigating his war on drugs are to face each other in a surprise resumption of the House of Representatives’ Quad Committee hearing on Wednesday morning.

Former Presidential Legal Counsel Salvador Panelo confirmed Duterte’s attendance to the Quad Committee probe on Tuesday evening.

The conduct of hearing came as a surprise after the Quad Committee announced that it was already cancelled and moved to November 21.

In a press conference yesterday, Quad Committee members said they could not accommodate Duterte because the scheduled hearing has already been cancelled.

Many were surprised when the House of Representatives suddenly announced that the hearing will proceed 9:30 o’clock in the morning today.

Few minutes before the hearing starts, Quad Committee Lead Chairman Representative Robert Ace Barbers said they are going to lay down their house rules and that includes prohibition of foul language from the speakers.
