Authorities in Nepal have urged residents living near rivers to evacuate to safer areas after a landslide triggered severe flooding in Gorkha District.
The landslide blocked the Budhi Gandaki River in Chumnubri village, causing water levels to rise and flood nearby areas.
Authorities reported that around 12 houses, two suspension bridges, and a highway bridge were damaged, while a camp for a hydroelectric project was also affected.
Five people, including two women and three men, remain missing, while 49 others, including one foreign national, have been rescued.
Soldiers and police are conducting search-and-rescue operations as authorities closely monitor rising water levels and assess the possible impact on neighboring districts.
