According to DOLE Bureau of Working Conditions Director Alvin Curada, the arrangement would allow workers to complete the standard 40-hour workweek in four days instead of five, without reducing their daily wages.

Curada explained that under the compressed workweek setup, employees may work longer hours each day to complete the required 40 hours. However, the additional hours will not be considered overtime as long as they remain within the agreed 40-hour work schedule.
