DA launches Benteng Bigas Masterlist Registry System

The Department of Agriculture (DA) is now ready to roll out the Benteng Bigas Masterlist (BBM) Registry System.

In a statement, Agriculture Secretary Francisco Tiu Laurel Jr. said that after conducting tests last month, they are prepared to deploy the P20 Registry System.

The program is expected to serve 15 million households, or roughly 60 million Filipinos.

According to Laurel, the project is a clear example of how the DA can utilize technology to modernize agriculture, and strengthen the country’s food security.

The agency explained that the P20 rice program will provide a stable market for locally produced rice.

Laurel added that through the newly launched online system, the program can be expanded further to benefit other sectors.

Meanwhile, DA-Information and Communications Technology Service (DA-ICTS) Chief Honorio Flameño said the Registry System link will be accessible through various platforms, including the eGov Portal, the DA website, and the DA Facebook page.
