The Civil Service Commission (CSC) has approved up to five days of Wellness Leave (WL) for eligible government officials and employees.
In a statement, CSC Chairperson Marilyn Barua-Yap said the new leave benefit is a “proactive response” to the realities faced by those working in government.
She explained that giving employees time to rest, recover, and care for themselves helps create a public service environment that is more compassionate, resilient, and responsive to the needs of the people.
The Wellness Leave may be taken for up to three consecutive days or on separate days.
This new policy is supported by the findings of the 2025 Global Workplace Report, which shows that Filipino workers have the second-highest stress levels in Southeast Asia due to unhealthy lifestyles and heavy workloads.
